Car Rental Brain (carrentalbrain.com and app.carrentalbrain.com, including its tools for AI assistants) is run by Jimi Walters. By using it you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.

What Car Rental Brain is

A free comparison and information service for car hire. We search DiscoverCars, rank the results by what you will actually pay, and publish measured market figures. We are not a rental company, a broker or an insurer. Bookings, payments, cancellations and the rental contract are between you, DiscoverCars and the rental supplier, on their terms.

Prices and figures

  • Live prices come from DiscoverCars and the suppliers and can change between our page and theirs. The price on the booking page is the one that counts.
  • Our market figures (medians, "from" prices, deposits, desk hours) are measured from our own repeated searches and dated. They describe the market; they are not quotes or offers for your trip.
  • Fees we estimate (for example an unpublished second-driver fee) are labelled as estimates.
  • We work hard to be accurate but cannot promise every figure is complete or current.

AI assistants

Our tools for ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants return the same measured figures and a link to a live search. They never book or pay for you. What an assistant says with our data is the assistant's own wording; check the figures and dates on our site or the booking page before relying on them.

How we are paid

If you book or buy through our links, DiscoverCars or an insurance partner may pay us a commission. You pay the same price. Commission never changes the order of results. See the affiliate disclosure.

Acceptable use

Use the service for your own trips. Don't scrape it, overload it, get around its rate limits, or resell its data. We may limit or block automated use.

Liability

The service is provided as it is, free of charge. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses arising from a booking, a supplier's conduct, a price change, or reliance on a figure. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by law.
